TIRO LARK

History

Liam Royden has been a musician since being given his first guitar at the age of five. At the age of 11 he had formed his first band with school friends including Ollie Ashdown. By 13, Liam was performing regularly around Chester, while also performing in school musicals. Guitarist Joe Smith briefly joined the band where they reached the final of a local battle of the bands, before Liam and Joe went their own way to work together. Drummer Ollie Ashdown then re-joined them on percussion where they played as a trio around the Chester/Merseyside area.

They soon began to attract a following playing numerous local gigs. They again stormed to the final of the local battle battle of the bands, this time winning the competition from 50 hopefuls. With their prize they went into the studio and recorded a seven track CD which soon sold out at their gigs. The highlight of 2010 was being asked to play the 3 day OsFest Festival at Oswestry. During this time Liam was writing more and more of his own songs and in July 2011 he relaunched the band adding another school friend, Harrison Parr, on bass guitar, to concentrate on their own material. Still only sixteen, by the end of the month they had signed a management contract and changed their name to TIRO LARK.
