Return of the FA
Cup 1984
Everton v. Watford
I followed the bus, catching them
up in a variety of places - this was the best pic I took opposite Lime Street Station.
(Later I got a 24 x16 of this shot signed by
the whole team)
European Cup Winners Cup 1985
Everton v. Rapid Vienna
Me, Gordon Black, Steve Wells, &
Tony, just stepped off the train ready to go into Feyenoord's ground in
Rotterdam for the European Cup Winner's Cup Final against Rapid Vienna
in 1985.
Looking a little rough after an overnight coach journey
through France and Belgium.
Andy Gray makes it 1-0.
Peter
Reid holds the European Cup Winner's Cup aloft after defeating Rapid Vienna
3-1.
I was too far away to use the flash as I was taking it from
my seat - that's why it is blurred.
The Year of Live Aid 1985
After organising a sponsored 24 hour five-a-side match in aid of Live Aid, I was invited to Goodison for the official presentation of the cheque. Everton had loaned us the kits and gave other support. I was given the VIP treatment for the home game against Notts Forest. I met up with Derek Mountfield before the game for a photo for the Echo - this was taken as he showed me around part of the player's facilities in the main stand. Right after the final whistle we were whisked down to the dressing room, past the gathered press corps waiting for a statement, and straight into the dressing room at only 4.45pm! The players were strolling about getting showered and changed - so much for the inner sanctum! Kendall came over for a chat then posed for the photo. We were then taken into the player's lounge for after match drinks. The photo appeared in the Manchester United programme Dec 1985. |
