Village Lock Up, High Street (1981)

Later buildings of some merit include the Lock Up dated 1837. This is completely Georgian in appearance with its Flemish Bond brickwork and Tonne slate roof. Its appearance is only marred by the clay hip tiles. Presumably it was once used as a prison of some kind or as a pound for stray animals. Farndon: The History of a Cheshire Village, Frank A. Latham (Ed.), (1981), p.82.
